The United Nations Development Fund for Women estimates that at least
one of every three women globally will be beaten, raped, or otherwise
abused in her lifetime.
because it’s the only thing we can do; these are our sister’s,
mother’s, girlfriends, acquaintances, humans, women.
We will let the victims, and their abuser’s, know we won’t turn our
back on them, or cover our eyes, we are here and we care. Violence
against women and girls is not inevitable. Prevention is possible and
essential.
Our dedicated, giving designers of Second Life have created unique
items for this event, there will be only one copy of their liberte
inspired design and through their generosity, and your generous giving
heart, it can be yours. During the week long 2Lei event in Second Life
(November 18th through the 25th) there will be several events taking
place.
For our event, the Designers and models auction portion, from
November 19th through November 22nd, you can preview these designer’s
items on the Salimar Luxury District sim, http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SaliMar/95/127/502 and place bids on items you wish to own.
with some of Second Life’s finest models donating time to style and
show these amazing designs. The auction’s bid winner will receive their
one of a kind outfit from the model and will be the only owner of the
outfit for eternity. All proceeds from the auction will go to the United

receive psychosocial counseling in countries across Africa and Asia.
With $100USD (25000L), 17 women’s right activists in the Middle East can
be trained to engage men and boys as change agents to end violence
against women and girls. With our pooled together $1,000USD (250,000L),
70 police officers can be sensitized to respond to women survivors of
violence without gender bias in India. Every little bit helps. Together,

Dreams Way

The "Dreams Way" project was created with the purpose of helping "Brigadoon Explorers" and "Dreams" Foundations, which are active in organizing various activities for people affected by A/S and autism. Further informations about these Foundations can be found here: http://soj-sldreams.blogspot.it/
The agency is present in Second Life with an active avatar: Golda Stein.
All proceeds from the event will be payed on a cashier avatar named "Dreamsway Resident" created by founder of Dreams Way, Shanty Bookmite. Once the event ends all the incomes will be devolved to Golda Stein through an SL transaction.
For greater transparency, Shanty Bookmite will post on the blog (http://dreams-way-sl.blogspot.it/) a record of every transaction to Dreamsway Resident as well as the final transaction to Golda Stein. Each participant to the event will be able to verify the amount of each transaction and that all the proceeds will be devolved to the avatar representing the Foundations, Golda Stein.
Our goal is to get fashion Designers, Photographers and Fashion Agencies involved in organizing a big charity event to raise funds for Brigadoon Explorers and Dreams.
The event will take place from November ,11th till November, 30th, in a sim specially created for the event, which includes a shopping district and an area for fashion shows.
Our catwalk will host 7 Fashion Shows organized by 7 Agencies that will join the project showcasing creations from participating Designers.
A big Charity Auction will close the event: your skills will be sold to the highest bidder!

A Dream Within...

"A Dream Within..." is a charity event for Crohn's and Colitis UK (info: http://www.crohnsandcolitis.org.uk/) and is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.
Why
Crohn's and Colitis UK? Crohn's Disease is a treatable illness, but not
curable, also the cause is still unknown. Many people have never even
heard of this illness, but with time the symptoms and side effects of
Crohn's will get worse (anaemia, short bowel syndrome, malnutrition,
DVT... etc the list is going on and on), and it sometimes gets life
threatening.
With the growing number of patients diagnosed each year
it is vital that the research towards this illness is well funded, that
soon they will finally find a cure so future patients will not have to
face the huge impact of Crohn's on their lives.
Why Poe? I just
simply find E. A. Poe very inspiring. There is no other like him. Each
designer was assigned to a different verse/part of one of Poe's poems
and was asked to interpret it into a creation, a visual composition of
theirs.
50% of the income of each design will go to Crohn's and Colitis UK, but there will also be donation boxes dotted around.
The event will start with a little fashion show on 9th of November 1PM SLT and will run for a whole week at Azure Island (Finesmith)
